Wyrmworks Publishing is 50% of Making It Better LLC, a husband and wife team dedicated to making the world better. The other 50% is Mom Makes It All, dedicated to making the world happier and more beautiful with handmade crafts and gifts. And 100% of our focus extends to caring for our family and community.

Our Principles

We want everyone to know that, no matter who you are, no matter what your lived experiences are, no matter what you’ve done or has been done to you, you are loved and valued. Your presence in this world makes it better, and we’re glad you’re here. We believe that everyone is important, and we will do what we can with our available resources to remind you of your value and communicate it to the world.

By imagining fantasy worlds that demonstrate accessibility and systemic justice for all while realistically recognizing the challenges to realizing that goal, we can bring those concepts into the real world one tabletop group at a time. This creates a groundswell of community support that will eventually work its way into every societal structure.

We can have fun doing this.

Our Mission

We help you make lives better using tabletop roleplaying games (TTRPGs).

In recent years, a conversation about disability and ableism has ignited within the Dungeons & Dragons and broader TTRPG community. This conversation holds the key to our shared future, and it will grow and flourish in the years to come. Your task is to aid us in this quest, to become catalysts of compassion and understanding. Together, we shall dispel the illusions surrounding disabilities, neurodiversity, mental illness, poverty, and the many challenges faced by marginalized people.

Dungeons & Dragons and other fantasy roleplaying games provide a unique gateway to explore the vast concept of cultural accessibility, where fantasy intertwines with reality, unburdened by political rhetoric and clickbait headlines.

As you journey through this enchanted realm, you will discover marvelous materials and training that equip Dungeon Masters and players with finesse and a fantasy spin. With these tools, you will seamlessly weave these important concepts into your own tales, creating fun and meaningful adventures filled with vibrant characters and intricate narratives without hamfisted bluntness.

But our quest doesn’t end there! We also seek to collaborate with other TTRPG businesses and organizations, making their offerings accessible to all. Furthermore, we strive to empower schools, churches, and other community organizations by enhancing cultural accessibility and fostering multigenerational bonds through TTRPG-based mentoring.

By joining our noble cause, you shall unlock extraordinary rewards. Access exclusive materials in various formats, join us in sharing freely with those in need, and forge direct connections with our dedicated team. Explore the depths of our Patreon levels to uncover the secrets that lie within.

Together, we shall embark on a grand adventure, shaping the future of gaming and beyond. Join us as we ignite compassion, bring inclusion to the forefront, and create a world where everyone can thrive. The journey awaits! Will you accept this quest?

Working for Wyrmworks Publishing

Wyrmworks Publishing was created on the concept that caring about people is the ideal business model, improving the lives of both our fans and our team, and that improving others’ lives is the best way to improve our own.

We hire people with disabilities, neurodiversity, and mental illness whenever possible to support them and to amplify their stories and experiences. While Wyrmworks Publishing is a family business, we work with a diverse team of freelancers dedicated to making lives better while they benefit from working with us. Wyrmworks Publishing is a family, a team, and a global diverse collection of valued fans all working together to make lives better through tabletop roleplaying games.

Those who work for Wyrmworks Publishing should expect the following:

  • Good games are worth playing: We’re working on games, and while that’s usually creating, not playing, it should still be a fun challenge. Yes, there is a system to operate within, but we want you to enjoy expressing your creativity and provide a friendly and welcoming environment.
  • CR-appropriate challenges: We want to provide fulfilling challenges but make sure you have the necessary resources to accomplish the goals, giving you enough time, party members, outside information, and tools to make sure you can succeed without exhaustion.
  • Don’t split the party: We support each other and offer encouragement as well as helping each other refine our work to make it the best it can be.
  • Everyone needs downtime: Whether to rest, to have fun, to manage health issues, to spend time with loved ones, to manage other responsibilities, to get training, or anything else you need to be physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and relationally healthy, we want to provide well-defined expectations but will negotiate deadlines and other details so the task parameters support your health and creativity instead of hindering them.
  • You get your share of the treasure: We hire with clearly defined fair compensation based on the skill and time needed for each task. We provide payment promptly upon the completion of work and, for more complicated or ongoing projects, negotiate payment schedules for incremental payment.

If this is the kind of company you want to support, we encourage you to support our Patreon and receive the associated extra benefits.

If this is the kind of company where you’d like to offer your skills, we invite you to submit a freelance application to be considered for future projects. (Note: We will be producing a wide variety of projects in the future requiring a diverse set of talents and styles. While we may not be looking for your specific skills at the moment, we will retain all bona fide applications for consideration for future projects, and if your information becomes outdated, you’re welcome to submit periodic updates.)
