Get in the (#DnD) Game Forever
When we launched Limitless Heroics and Limitless Champions, people told us repeatedly how good it felt to be recognized. We want to do that again.
What if your character didn’t just exist at your home table but across kitchen tables, classrooms, and community spaces around the world?
What if you or your entire party became part of a global story of fun, creativity, and belonging?
With Free5e’s pre-order store, you now have a chance to literally get in the game—not just to support it, but to be part of it.
The Free5e Player’s Guide is already funded. Now we need your help to bring the Game Master’s Handbook to life—and you can do it by claiming your place in the game itself.
Name a Spell. Appear Inside. Shape the Future.
We just launched the Free5e pre-order store, and with it, two once-in-a-lifetime ways to literally get in the game:
Name a Spell or Magic Item
This is your chance to link your name or your character’s to a permanent part of the fantasy landscape, and let future tables speak your name every time they cast.
- Tasha’s Hideous Laughter becomes [Your name]’s Hideous Laughter
- Quaal’s Feather Token becomes [Your uncle who gave you your first set of dice]’s Feather Token
These slots are first-come, first-served. Claim your legacy while you can.
Be in the Book Art
Step into the world of Free5e by appearing in the official art of the Player’s Guide or Game Master’s Handbook. This could be your fantasy hero—or even your real face.
- Show your party as a legendary adventuring group.
- Memorialize a loved one as a character in the game.
- Represent your identity as a champion of a more inclusive table.
You’ll be seen around the world by future players, forever linked to the moment tabletop gaming changed for the better.
Contribute to Representation through a Diversity Donation
Want to help shape the game but don’t need your own face or name in it? Now you can sponsor someone else’s.
With the Diversity Donation option, you can:
- Fund the inclusion of someone from a marginalized population,
- Empower them to represent themselves or their lived experience in the art,
- Choose a specific entry to donate or let the recipient choose from those available — and make a lasting impact.
This lets your contribution go directly toward making Free5e more inclusive, equitable, and representative of the full diversity of players at our tables.
Build the Future You Want to See at the Table
This isn’t just about getting your name in a book. It’s about building a future where:
- Every kid sees a hero who looks like them.
- Every table has tools for real inclusion.
- Players with disabilities find themselves reflected in the rules.
- Game nights become a space where more people feel safe, empowered, and welcome.
Free5e is being built from the ground up by and for the community.
It’s fully open-licensed, fully inclusive, and freely available.
And now it can include you.

You Become the Real-World Hero
When your name or your character appears in Free5e, it becomes more than a fun nod—it becomes a symbol of the future we’re all imagining together.
- A kid in Brazil learning to GM for the first time shows her players their new magic item…wielded by you.
- A blind player in Canada finds the name of your spell in braille and throws his dice with pride.
- A student in India creates a new adventure in their native language thanks to Free5e’s translation-friendly license.
And somewhere, your spell, your face, your story helps make it happen.
The Portal Closes June 16
Contrary to the claims during the satanic panic, you can’t use D&D to summon a demon. But we found a way to cross the dimensional precipice between fantasy and reality. Yet this spell has a limited duration. The gateway that can bring this fantasy into the real world closes June 16.
Before then, we need at least 30 backers to claim a spell, name a magic item, or become part of the art to unlock the Game Master’s Handbook. Every name and face makes a difference.
But once these slots are claimed, they’re gone.
Don’t Just Play. Become a Legend.
In 50 years, someone will cast your spell.
Or build a rogue while seeing your character as the class illustration.
Or see your face and know: They belong here too.
You or your fantasy hero will become the real-world hero for generations of players.
Go claim your place in the game — and history — now.
Or fund someone else’s inclusion with a Diversity Donation.
Because fantasy should belong to everyone. And now it can.
