Back in 1982, I started playing D&D and soon discovered the D&D-like video game "Tunnels of Doom" for the TI-99/4a home computer. It allowed up to 4 players to assume different character classes or 1 to play as the "Hero" with combined abilities, a feature that doesn't exist in tabletop RPGs or in reality. This experience taught me the importance of collaboration and the unique strengths each character brings to the group.
In reality, D&D teaches us that victory lies in teamwork. Imagine a party—a warrior shielding a spellcaster, a rogue spotting traps, a healer mending wounds, and a bard inspiring everyone when things get tough. Each role is essential, just like each of you!
Today, as we celebrate Independence Day in the US (no matter where you're from or your feelings towards the US), let's cherish our diverse community. Whether you're an artist, a master chef, a trivia expert, or a friend who always listens, your unique talents make our journey extraordinary. By embracing and celebrating our diverse abilities and perspectives, we create a tapestry of strength that surpasses any individual's power. Each role is essential, just like each of you!
True independence lies in our interdependence. Together, we weave a more inclusive world where everyone's powers shine. |
