On May 5, our Facebook account got hacked. I realized it immediately and changed the password, but not before they took over the ad account as admin and changed me to "employee." I removed my bank information from the account before it could be misused. After about an hour of searching the Far Realm that is their Knowledge Base, I rolled a 20 on my Investigation check and discovered a way to contact support.
Almost a month later, after sending multiple receipts and identification documents, the rakshasa still controls the account, and Meta Support told me they see no evidence of a breach. Apparently, I appear more Construct than Humanoid. The one time that passing one of those "Are you human?" captchas really matters, I fail. Or they did — I'm ready to ask them why they're not flipping over the tortoise. Consequently, we haven't been able to run Facebook ads for Limitless Champions to get the word out.
But this isn't the first time my character and motives have been doubted by people who don't know me.
Thankfully, I've had chances to share my heart and what drives our company and projects, and the past week was no exception.
I talked to Jacob Wood from Accessible Games about this project, the meaning of "Limitless," and some of the negative feedback we've received. And I participated in a Q&A last night about it. I hope you enjoy those peeks behind the curtain into my heart.
And I can tell you from experience that you are not what others think of you in their limited experience with you. Nobody else can devalue you. I can confidently say that there is beauty behind the curtain in your heart. |
