Helping you make lives better through Tabletop Roleplaying Games

Hydda* {name}!

When I first started organizing what would eventually become Limitless Heroics, I thought about what conditions to include. My kids have multiple extremely rare neurological conditions that never get representation in games, media, and publicity campaigns, so they are forgotten even among individuals with chronic conditions who are frequently forgotten by the wider public.

In a project that's all about inclusion, I didn't want anyone to be forgotten, and that's partly what led to the idea of organizing experiences by traits.

And while all the ribbon campaigns are important for raising awareness and research funds, we also want to focus on the person as a complex individual, because you are important. You are valuable.

We believe in inclusion and representation for all. We understand the importance of recognizing each individual's unique traits and experiences, especially those who are often overlooked or forgotten. We want you to know that you are important and valuable, and our work in creating supplements for D&D 5th edition is aimed at promoting diversity and representation in the gaming community. Thank you for supporting our mission to make the world a more compassionate and inclusive place.

Speaking of rare conditions, this week is Porphyria Awareness Week. Porphyria is a group of eight inherited genetic conditions that cause a naturally occurring body chemical (porphyrins) to accumulate in the body, causing a variety of traits such as digestive troubles, pain, skin conditions, hallucinations, and sunlight sensitivity.

The most famous historical figure believed to have Porphyria is King George III of England and his ancestor, Mary, Queen of Scots, but D&D fans may be more interested in an earlier figure, Vlad "The Impaler" Dracula (Yes, that Dracula.), which may have contributed to the belief that vampires are vulnerable to the sun.

So when people tell you that disability representation is incompatible with adventurers, ask them what they think of Strahd. 🧛

Meanwhile, this week only, you can contribute $5 to Porphyria research by clicking this link (no cost, login, or personal information needed—$5 gets donated for every person who clicks). While you're there, take some time to learn more.

Felix’s Fantastical Finds
As the players enter Felix’s Fantastical Finds, they are greeted by the sight of countless magical items lining the shelves and tables. The shop is well-organized, with each section dedicated to a specific category of item. A friendly-looking man with a white beard and sparkling blue eyes stands behind the counter, his name is Felix. Felix is a wizard of considerable power, and he takes great pleasure in sharing his knowledge of magic with others. He wears a purple robe adorned with gold symbols, and a matching pointed hat sits atop his head. His shop is known throughout the land for its unique and rare magical items, many of which Felix has created himself. “Welcome to my magic shop! Today, I am proud to introduce a new collection of enchanted items, crafted in honor of Porphyria Awareness Week.…

Projects We Love
A boat, and 2 sailboards moving across sandy dunes. Harrow The Blighted Plane. Underground Oracle. Compatible with Cypher System

Windsurfing on sand dunes. Cool, right?

I love D&D, but it's always worth exploring other systems that offer unique and exciting gameplay experiences.

Our friends at Underground Oracle are currently running a Kickstarter campaign for Harrow: The Blighted Plane, which uses the Cypher system. It offers players the opportunity to explore a fascinating world that blends high fantasy, post-apocalyptic themes, and crystalpunk aesthetics.

You get a complete world to explore and all the rules needed to play, making it an excellent opportunity for players who have never tried the Cypher system before.

With an early access version available to all backers who pledge at the PDF tier or higher, there's no reason not to give this exciting game a try. So, if you're looking for a new TTRPG to sink your teeth into, give Harrow: The Blighted Plane a chance!
